Regarding the celebration of Human Rights Day where an ethical, moral and legal code was elaborated by the majority of the nations after the Second World War, today the existence of the International Bill of Human Rights is commemorated that does not It is more than a series of international laws, responsible for monitoring the fulfillment of these rights.
Likewise, we must remember that animals also have a universal declaration of their rights and it is necessary not only that we know them, but that we comply with it. It is necessary to live in harmony with humans, animals and the environment.

Universal Declaration of Animal Rights

This statement was adopted by the International League for Animal Rights in 1977, which proclaimed it the following year. Subsequently, it was approved by the United Nations (UN) and by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Considering that every animal has rights and that ignorance and disregard for these rights have led and continue to lead man to commit crimes against nature and animals, the following is proclaimed:  
-       Item No. 1
All animals are born equal to life and have the same rights to existence.
- Item No. 2
a) Every animal has the right to respect.
b) Man, as an animal species, cannot claim the right to exterminate other animals or to exploit them, violating that right. You have the obligation to put your knowledge at the service of animals.
c) All animals have the right to the attention, care and protection of man.- 
- Item No. 3
a) No animal shall be subjected to mistreatment or cruel acts.
b) If the death of an animal is necessary, it must be instantaneous, painless and not generating anguish.

- Item No. 4
a) Every animal belonging to a wild species has the right to live freely in its own natural, terrestrial, aerial or aquatic environment and to reproduce.
b) Any deprivation of liberty, even that for educational purposes, is contrary to this right.
- Item No. 5
a) Every animal belonging to a species that traditionally lives in the human environment has the right to live and grow at the rhythm and in the conditions of life and freedom that are specific to its species.
b) Any modification of said rhythm or said conditions that was imposed by man for commercial purposes is contrary to said right.
- Item No. 6
a) Every animal that man has chosen as a companion has the right that the duration of its life is in accordance with its natural longevity.
b) The abandonment of an animal is a cruel and degrading act.
- Item No. 7
All working animals have the right to a reasonable limitation of the time and intensity of work, to a restorative diet and to rest.
- Item No. 8
a) Animal experimentation that involves physical or psychological suffering is incompatible with animal rights, whether it is medical, scientific or commercial experiments, or any other form of experimentation.
b) Alternative techniques must be used and developed.
- Item No. 9
When an animal is raised for food, it must be fed, installed and transported, as well as slaughtered, without causing it anxiety or pain.
- Item No. 10
a) No animal should be exploited for the entertainment of man.
b) Animal exhibitions and shows that use animals are incompatible with the dignity of the animal.
- Item No. 11
Any act that involves the death of an animal unnecessarily is a biocide, that is, a crime against life.
- Item No. 12
a) Any act that involves the death of a large number of wild animals is genocide, that is, a crime against the species.
b) Pollution and destruction of the natural environment lead to genocide.
- Item No. 13
a) A dead animal must be treated with respect.
b) Scenes of violence, in which animals are victims, should be prohibited in the cinema and on television, except if they are intended to show attacks against animal rights.
- Item No. 14
a) The organisms for the protection and safeguarding of animals must be represented at the governmental level.
b) Animal rights must be defended by law, as are human rights.
