It is said that no human being can live in solitude or isolation, the help of another person and society is necessary to satisfy their needs, to give themselves support. The same happens with animals, they create societies in order to fight for survival and they act through behaviors that are always repeated in the same way, instinctively.

Animals are also grouped cooperatively. Their social behavior means that all animals are related within their own species and form societies where each individual has a specific task for their survival. The lifestyle according to their behaviors can be divided into two: gregarious or group and lonely. For example human beings, some species of birds, dogs tend to associate in small and large groups, therefore they are called groups. Cats, for example, are solitary, they do not form groups, their behavior is territorial and they break their limits in times of heat, to comply with their reproduction process, although it also depends on the region where the cats are; there may be colonies of them and they are generally stray.

Animals that tend towards life in society or in groups, defend their territory from predators, get food, take care of their young. In the groups made up of the majority of animals there are also fights or problems of competitiveness for food, for heat and usually the most dominant of the herd is the one who intervenes.

In some groups or packs they determine command hierarchies. They have established laws, to maintain order and peace. Depending on the species, the oldest or adults or the strongest is the one that dominates the herd; and authority is established through fights until they realize which is the dominant male, the strongest, who has the responsibility to defend his territory and to mate with the females and guide their herd. There are other species such as white whales, elephants, cusumbos, they form groups or female herds, the herd of elephants is made up of several families of a female with her daughters and it could be said that with her granddaughters. And it is almost always a female over 50 who dominates the herd due to her vast experience. Male elephants live secluded and lonely, only looking for females to mate and reproduce. These female societies have such strong ties that when one whale is stranded and calls for help, the others seek it out and surround it and may be trapped as well. Dolphins are the most social and intelligent species of animals, their family ties are very strong. They help mothers when their young are born, to bring them to the surface of the water so that they can breathe and when they are threatened by sharks, male dolphins make a social circle to protect the young, the females and the sick.

There are some animal societies that do not have command hierarchies and that although they are not properly organized because they are so numerous, they destroy quantities of food in many kilometers, such as schools of fish, sardines, lobsters, cod, tuna and fish. orange crabs from the Pacific shores. These species prefer the advantage of walking and living together without rules.
