Plastic bottles are mostly used as a container for dairy products, sodas, water, medicines, vitamins, household cleaners, etc. One of the virtues of this material is that it is cheaper than glass and different shapes can be made taking into account the function of the liquid it contains. They are manufactured in various materials according to their application.

- High Density Polyethylene: Known as HDPE, this is a very inexpensive extended resin. One of the advantages is that it repels moisture and is compatible to contain acids and caustic solvents. It is translucent and flexible. if color is included, it becomes opaque.
- Polyethylene terephthalate: it is known as PET, and it is used to contain beverages such as soda and water.
- Low-density polyethylene : It is known as LDPE, this material is similar to HDPE, the difference is that it is less rigid and more translucent, it is also used to contain drinks.
- Polyvinyl chloride: it is known as PVC, it is a material quite resistant to impacts from falls and also as a barrier for gases and solvents. It is used to contain cooking oils and vinegar. They resist high temperatures. They also use it for cleaning products and cosmetics.
- Polypropylene: known as PP, it is used mostly for jugs and is resistant to low temperatures.
- Polystyrene: offers excellent rigidity and transparency, it is used in gelatins, spices, vitamins and medicines. It is not resistant to impacts.
