Garbage is all waste considered as the waste produced by living beings, such as plants and animals as well as those generated by man in his homes and in general in the establishments or places where he carries out his activities and that therefore must be eliminated. These wastes can be classified into organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste.

Organic waste comes from organisms that decompose easily; from living beings, plants and animals. Shells, food scraps, manure, leaves, flowers, dry plants, animal excrement, bones, etc. are generated. Inorganic wastes are substances that do not decompose; they come from an industrial process, not natural and are not biodegradable; they are waste of mineral origin or the result of chemical processes that do not decompose easily such as plastic, glass, cans, electrical and electronic waste, waterproof fabrics, smoke, detergents, soap powder, etc. Within this, the inorganic, is the sanitary waste, where is the material used for medical treatments such as hospitals, health centers and homes, such as gauze, bandages, cotton, toilet paper, sanitary towels, paper towels and disposable devices. These wastes contain microorganisms that cause various diseases.

Biological waste is very dangerous for the environment and therefore must be treated in a special way. These are radioactive materials, infectious hospital waste, acids, corrosive substances etc. If the collection and disposal of waste is adequate, many diseases are avoided, as well as the proliferation of insects, rodents and microorganisms. It is necessary to separate organic and inorganic waste into different bags, and thus facilitate their collection. (You may be interested in: Electronic Waste)

Garbage is a big everyday problem and a delicate drama for big cities that no longer know what to do with so much waste; it is a source of bad odors, infections and diseases, and environmental pollution. A continuous stimulation of citizen education is needed from district and municipal governments, from the urban and rural community to make them aware of the enormous wealth generated by recycling, reuse and reduction of solid waste. Hence, initiatives that tend to discriminate against waste according to its class; organic or inorganic, recyclable or disposable, must be sustained so that they become the dominant trend in the near future.

One of the most complex problems for modern cities, towns and rural areas is the disposal of their waste, especially those that have a strong environmental impact, but fortunately in recent years there have been initiatives aimed at reusing and processing household waste, organizing it in such a way that this waste generates economic surpluses for the communities that produce it.

The human being began to use the raw materials in a disorderly way, with the excuse of development; it is thus, the man who exploits the natural resources more quickly, is the one who generates greater economic benefits; the one who produces more garbage mimics his happiness with consumerism and waste, producing proliferation of insects, rodents and pathogenic microorganisms, which bring terrible diseases to humanity.

It is calculated that each person produces approximately 1 kg. of garbage per day. Most of the urban solid waste produced is made up of materials that can be easily classified: paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, rags, organic and inorganic matter, etc. Garbage is not only waste, but also a great resource for making utensils and objects that benefit entire communities. That’s why the opportunity was given to take advantage of garbage thinking about its uselessness and starting to extract raw materials, keeping in mind that the term waste would become a money maker. Waste can be a source of wealth if there are adequate ways to recycle, reuse and reduce it. It is necessary to avoid that the inadequate management of waste impacts the health of humans and ecosystems.

Waste does not contaminate because of its nature, but because of its bad management.

One of the alternatives with the full support of people, industries, hospitals, is a process of sustainable use of waste, convert the waste into gas. The elaboration of solid waste gasification plants in the different municipalities of Latin America Investors and entrepreneurs have bet on the reuse of garbage and have realized that garbage is money and a source of wealth. Through waste, energy can be generated
