Already when we almost closed the work week for many, I want to present some curious news of animals that have been protagonists this year:
The Tarangire National Park,in Tanzania has been seen these days an unusual visitor: a white giraffe; but the giraffe is not albino and normally lives along with the rest of the herd. In addition to this it has a red hair different from that of its species, as recorded by the Newspaper Dayli Mail, this animal has been the rarest in its species. It is a new element that Mother Nature makes available to us to admire it!
A study by the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (in Leipzig, Germany) reveals the existence of feelings of trust among chimpanzees considered friends, comparing them to humans, because we trust close friends when we feel needs, need help or want company. According to the study reveals that these animals that create emotional and lasting bonds with express individuals show that “human friendship does not represent an anomaly in the animal kingdom”.
New adherent materials for textile or medical purposes are being inspired by a Staurois guttatus frog that inhabits the Brunei Sultanate River and climbs rocks of a waterfall without falling and does this without much effort. So far no other animal with such properties is known and that is why a team of scientists is studying the adherent materials that the animal has to develop them perhaps in the use of tires or fibers that will help humans.
On the Asturian Coast was found squid of about 80 kilos of weight and with a length that can reach 9 meters including its eight arms and two tentacles. So far it is unknown how many specimens of this type of animal can cover the depths of the ocean and that at present it is impossible to investigate them. It is speculated that there may be specimens that would weigh 500 kilos and that could be more than 20 meters in length. This mythological animal was present in the historical writings that told how the ships of Scandinavian sailors were sunk by the tentacles of these marine animals who attacked their ships and devoured their crews, being considered monsters and associated with terror and marine destruction.
So the legend of the giant squid is still alive and it can be seen that there could have been those so great, which caused dread to the sailors. At least those that have been found today are being studied and it is hoped that this will bring much light to the scientific community about the existence of such specimens considered sea monsters in the past.
